We are at the door. I am very good at jumping in the car and he tells me I am a good girl. I love cars because they are magical. My mother and I went in, sat for a while, and then abruptly left. Sometimes it’s one of my favorite places, and sometimes it’s brand new.
We’re going, we’re going. It seems like years and years. We make several stops to go to the bathroom. This is really unusual. Where are we going?
I stick my head against the window. And it’s cold outside! No two flavors are the same. This is a new place! The highway was lost, the roads detoured. Oh…now I know! We are going to the mountains!
We get out of the car into a beautiful salon. Lots of new scents. I’m so glad! After filling up a little, my mom put me in the car and we went to the so-called Ugly Dog to the checkout. I wonder if only ugly dogs come in, because if so, I don’t let them in. I am very cute. Moore says a naughty dog is just an expression and all dogs can eat outside with their owners. So, I eat and drink with my mother. After that we went back to the cabin. I need to get some sleep before I go on a new adventure!

We have breakfast, and then we go to the car. It’s so exciting! I love driving and we continue to do so. I lean my head against the window. We are outside with beautiful Christmas lights everywhere. I heard his mother say it was Highland Main Street.
We stop and start walking. We go shopping and all the people in the shops greet me and pet the animals. Mom says if I’m okay we’ll go to therapy, so I really hope I’m okay.
Dogs are walking in and out of the store on the main street. Come on in, this is the store for me! There are toys and treats everywhere! This is a dog of high mountains. Mom goes to the health buffet and fills bags of natural remedies for me, and I meet my new friend at the store. He also buys a new rope toy. After checking out we head back to the car and I like to relax…but not for long!
We get in the car and minutes later are at the Highland Dog Park! I have many dogs to play with. I ride with my Australian Shepherd and we run around the dog park. Mom pulls out the rope toy she bought for me with Highlands Mountain Paws and Lucy the Australian Shepherd and I start my favorite game.

Finally I was very tired. There I went down to the dog park. I’m ready to sleep. So we stayed with mom and went back to the pet friendly cabin. He put me in a basket to rest from all the excitement, and told me and his friends to go shopping and have a good lunch at Wolfgang’s in the Highlands.
A mom is driving and telling her friend how excited they are to vacation in North Carolina with their dog. I’m definitely happy too! We drive for a while and end up in Paintertown Valley. This scares me a bit because I’ve heard panthers are medium sized big cats. But, says mom, there are no panthers, so you can try.
I like to be in the mountains. The fresh mountain air feels so good. There are so many new sounds and smells in the forest that I don’t recognize, but I love to pick them out. We finally reached our destination and I can’t believe it. It is water, but there is a lot of it and it moves very fast
