Best Dog Friendly Weekend Getaways Near Me – There’s something about January that makes me want to sit down on my calendar and plan a bunch of trips for next year. It’s so cold and dark outside that cozying up with a laptop and planning an adventure is incredibly rewarding.
Although we took a hiatus from our major international travels during the pandemic, we enjoyed reacquainting ourselves with the Seattle area and all of its amazing (and dog-friendly!) weekend getaways. After spending ten years living in New York and Chicago, it was so much fun to go back and rediscover old favorite haunts, as well as see all the innovative new places, boutique hotels, and unique Airbnbs that have popped up here. And most of all, I loved seeing how many of them are adopting dog-friendly options for their stays. I’m so much happier when we can bring Dave and Lizzie with us on vacation.

I’ve been dreaming of a stint on one of those Insta-famous A-frames for a long time, and I’m determined to make it happen this year. Tye River Co. Cabin offers three stunning A-frame cabins located in the heart of the Baker-Snoqualmie Mountain National Forest, and all three are pet-friendly for a fee. A word of wisdom though: getting a reservation can be tricky as each of their stunning Instagram posts receives thousands of likes. Pet information listed in each cabin details.
We spent a happy Easter weekend in Semiahmoo in 2019 and I’ve been looking for an opportunity to return to the beautiful countryside and remote beach that Lizzie loved exploring. Just steps from the Canadian border, this tranquil resort is a perfect base camp for hiking and incredibly picturesque views of the northern Washington coast. They are extremely dog-friendly and the little ones are welcomed with their bowls, bed and (at least during our visit) some souvenirs. Dog details here.
Travel back in time with a stay in one of these vintage RVs in Dayton, Oregon. The best part? They are located in the Willamette wine region. Trailers include coffee, luxurious linens and beautiful bathrobes. Puppies are allowed in the Shasta trailer and show more details here.
Anacortes is one of my favorite city trips. Drive an hour and a half north of Seattle to check out this quaint downtown beach town that has charming shops, delicious cafes, and ocean views. Detailed puppy policy is here.

I’m obsessed with the gorgeous new Water’s Edge Suites at this historic inn on Orcas Island, which offer private balconies overlooking the bay. I can already see myself curled up with a book there. If you haven’t heard of Tentrr yet, you’re missing out. We’ve been with them twice (in Vermont and during a trip to Maine that we wrote about here) and each trip was amazing. Basically, they set up luxury safari tents on incredible privately owned land, like this beautiful fruit farm near Mead, Washington. You can even choose to pay a little more to have one of their fruit tarts or some of their fresh eggs delivered to your door for a delicious al fresco scramble. Learn more about Tentrr’s dog policies here.
