This massive half-mile bridge spans the Tennessee River, connecting downtown Chattanooga to the North Shore. The bridge is pet friendly, so you and your dog can walk on the bridge and enjoy the scenery and the people. In addition, there are plenty of places to grab a bite on either side of the bridge – our favorite is Clumpies Ice Cream Co, located next to Coolhoe Park on the north side of the bridge.
Rock City is one of Chattanooga’s top outdoor attractions, with plenty to explore. You can see seven states from the top of Lover’s Leap, a scenic overlook jutting out from the hillside of Lookout Mountain. As well as some amazing views, there is also the Cave of Wonders, where you can see artistic interpretations of classic children’s stories throughout the cave. All types of pets are welcome here, and Rock City even offers dog treats from local company Nooga Paws.
Aretha Frankensteins is a funky restaurant with eclectic decor and killer pancakes. It’s a little out of the way in Chattanooga, but so it’s a favorite for locals looking for great restaurants. The patio is dog friendly, so bring your pup to this dimly lit place with a quirky atmosphere.
