This gave me the perfect excuse – reason, I should say – to bring in my good-natured but highly intelligent Shiba Inu, Ralph, as a reviewer for the two new escapes.
We first went to Artizen Singapore via Cuskedon Road, which gave Ralph his first impression of the lush green vertical garden at its entrance. I loved how the greenery immediately took me away from the concrete jungle of Orchard Road and the dog enjoyed basking around the trees.

Although the terrace apartment is a luxury, it consists of an essential piece of real estate that will please the furkik – a large terrace with a private garden.

One of Artizan’s differences is that dogs are also welcome in the outdoor area of Café Quenino, an all-day dining concept. Located next to a landscaped garden, perfect for when your four-legged companions get bored, the cafe’s hearty breakfast includes local delicacies such as nasi lemak and chilli crab omelette, and waiters are always happy to offer the animals pet a bowl of cold water.

At night, the space transforms into a cocktail bar and casual restaurant, offering super-comfortable dishes, including hearty Captain Curry Chicken Pot Pie and Boston Lobster Wholemeal Pasta. (I may have accidentally dropped a sample or two on my curious dog, and I’m happy to report that he accepted the restaurant’s culinary offer.)
One thing owners will want to know is that pets cannot be left alone even in their rooms, which can be a challenge if people need to venture out to Orchard Road or dine at the hotel’s fine-dining restaurant, Quinino by Victor . . Lion. The policy is a little stricter than other pet-friendly hotels, which only require owners to keep their pets away from household chores, but Artyzen says this is for safety reasons.
The point of all of this was to give my dog love and attention so that the lucky guy could enjoy many long walks around my company premises. Best of all, nearby Robertson Quay has plenty of open-air restaurants that welcome people and their pets. The Fraser Residence team recommended Botanic for thoughtful Asian fusion and Bella Pasta for Italian, and on our travels I learned that Tanamera Coffee on Robertson Quay not only serves a medium cup, but also has a small but authentic menu of Indonesian food.
Although Fraser Residences are mostly serviced apartments, they offer stays of up to six nights (think of it as a school holiday getaway) and each apartment can accommodate one pet in the one-bedroom categories and above.
Designed by Farm and SCDA Architects, the design features contemporary wood and gray tones. The furry VIP was also gifted with his own backpack containing a bowl of fresh water, squeaky toys and more, which he happily accepted.
The new, fully equipped apartments feature kitchens perfect for pampering guests in need of specially prepared hot meals, with state-of-the-art appliances including premium water filter taps, air filters and Dyson hairdryers.
