Salem, Massachusetts is historic, educational and fun! Salem has a fun, hockey side, but still has a lot of beautiful, historic places to see and do. It’s no surprise that because of the history of the Salem Witch Trials, they celebrate Halloween the entire month of October! Salem is close to a port, so it also has a maritime economy. It’s also a dog-friendly city with plenty of outdoor dining options for dogs!

They call Arkansas the Wild State for a reason. The nature in the state is very beautiful! Arkansas is also a very dog-friendly place. Eureka Springs is located in northern Arkansas, deep in the Ozark Mountains. It is a small town surrounded by lots of natural beauty.
Another beautiful small town in Arkansas is Hot Springs. Eureka Springs is the opposite of southern Arkansas, and the natural springs below have hotter water than the cold springs found north of Eureka Springs. Go on vacation with your kids this summer! It offers plenty of dog-friendly beaches that are perfect for your four-legged friend. When visiting dog-friendly areas, be sure to check your local beach before packing your dog. Some beaches allow dogs in the off season, but summer is a different story. Read on to find out everything you need to know about traveling to the beach with kids!
It is important to find out if your dog needs to be leashed or can walk freely. Always have a long line, but first determine if there is an unwanted area. If your child is allowed outside the line, make sure your voice is controlled so it doesn’t go too far. Remember, some beaches are less dog friendly than others. Also, children are easily frightened by dogs, so be aware of who your dog is approaching. Do not leave your dog unattended. Even the best trained dog can be destroyed. Finally, be aware of your surroundings and situations that may cause your dog to run away.
Follow all beach rules. Leave footprints alone at a pet-friendly beach. Make sure you always have fresh water, a doggie bag, and a leash when you head out for a fun day in the sand. You don’t want to be the reason dogs are no longer allowed on the beach!

Dogs are allowed in all state parks. However, state laws prohibit pets in swimming pools and require them to be restrained or kept on a leash longer than 6 feet and supervised while in the park.
All beaches classified as “swimming beaches” do not allow dogs. If a park lake or body of water is full, swimming is not permitted and may be enforced by park staff.
Non-swimming beaches allow dogs to swim. This usually happens in coastal parks, especially Tidewater Park.
Finally, in large rivers and lakes, dogs are allowed outside the banks of the water. When returning to land, dogs must be kept under six feet and under the control of their owner.
