Best Dog Friendly Resorts Washington State – January makes me sit down at my calendar and plan a bunch of trips for the coming year. It’s so cold and dark outside, it’s so nice to work on my laptop and plan adventures.

Although we’ve taken a break from major international travel during the pandemic, we’ve enjoyed reacquainting ourselves with the Seattle area and all of its wonderful (and dog-friendly!) weekends. Honestly, Coho Oceanfront has stolen my heart because of these waterfront spots. Although this cabin on the Oregon coast is only a short drive from Seattle, its beautiful modern interior and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean are worth the trip. In 2020 month of January. we had a wonderful weekend at The Lodges on Vashon – we wrote about it here – and the memories carried me through the first few months of isolation. The National Forest offers three amazing Type A cabins located in the heart of Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie, all three are pet-friendly for a fee. In 2019 We spent the Easter weekend in Semiahmu and I was looking for an opportunity to get back to the beautiful views and remote beach that Lizzie loved. Just a stone’s throw from the Canadian border, this peaceful retreat is the perfect base camp for great hiking and stunning scenic views of the northern Washington coast. Okay, so technically it’s not available yet, but we’ve signed up for notifications so we can book a second edition of these awesome camping trailers in Olympic National Park. I fell in love with the beautiful new Water’s Edge Suites at this historic hotel on Orcas Island, which feature balconies overlooking the bay. I can already see myself curled up with a book. If you haven’t heard of Tentrr, you’re missing out. We have stayed with them twice (in Vermont and on a trip to Maine that we wrote about here) and each trip was wonderful. Basically, they build luxury safari tents in unique private locations, such as a beautiful fruit farm near Meade, Washington. You can even choose to pay extra to have one of their fruitcakes delivered to your living room, or pick up fresh eggs from their farm and enjoy them outside. Admittedly, Idaho is a bit far from Seattle, but we’ll travel any distance to see this expansive view. Also, little touches like the sauna and antique coffee maker really melt my heart. Pets are allowed, but you need to look at the entrance of the stairs and think about whether this holiday will be interesting or not.
