Pets are allowed in Yosemite National Park. There are certain rules and regulations to ensure that your pets and Yosemite wildlife are protected from disease and from each other.
Inside the park, pets are only allowed on sidewalks and paths, 6 feet or less in the park, and may not be left unattended. So keep your furry family members on a short leash and on unpaved or poorly paved roads.
Pets are prohibited in parks, rural/wilderness areas, beaches, meadows, buses, residences or public buildings.
In addition to the trails listed above, most Yosemite trails, including the trail to Vernal Falls, do not allow pets – even if you are carrying them (carried, in strollers, in carriers, or in backpacks).
