We started our journey to Seattle, Washington in the middle of the night at 2:30 a.m. My husband, Cooper’s father, Driving almost all the time – he prepares in advance by sleeping a full 5 hours for the taxi drive. We arrived in southern Oregon around sunrise. First stop was a gas station where we refueled, went to the bathroom, and fed Cooper and Sachi (it was breakfast time), and then we continued our long drive.

Our first stop was at Adelman Peony Garden in Salem, Oregon. They have a huge peony collection spanning 25 acres in the Willamette Valley. Better yet, they’re dog friendly! We arrived a bit early during peak bloom. Around the beginning of June, however, our time here was much needed and the peonies were gorgeous. We learned about the elegance of pastel colors and that they cost $167 per stem. (One of the expensive peonies)

After viewing the peony garden We got back in the car and headed to Portland, Oregon. It was very hot in Portland. It gave us more than enough reason to stop at Wailua Shave Ice. The shaved ice here is always delicious and a must-visit in Portland. The next destination is Nong’s chicken rice. We ordered the original chicken rice and asked for chicken skin. This will make the whole dish more delicious.
After a refreshing stopover in Oregon, we prepared for the final leg of our trip. Around 4:00 PM, when we arrived at Cedarbrook Lodge in SeaTac, the check-in process was easy and we were given a room in the Dogwood area with a king-size bed and bath The room had all the amenities we needed and even a lounge area outside our room. This was the perfect place for us after driving over 12 hours; The lodge is warm and welcoming – truly home from home. The best thing about Cedarbrook is its access to 18 acres of lush outdoor space. Dogs are welcome. And our puppies have access to outdoor grass. outdoor restaurant and all public parks. There is also a trail near the wetland where we can walk our dogs.
For dinner We dined at Copperleaf Restaurant & Barout on the outdoor patio where the kids could enjoy a refreshing evening with us. Amidst the lush green trees There’s also a wood-burning fireplace that really gives it a Northwest feel. The food is seasonally inspired and most vegetables are grown and harvested at the lodge. For dinner we ordered risotto, octopus, roast duck and salmon. Every dish was well prepared and prepared accordingly. The food was excellent and we didn’t have to leave after checking out.
After dinner We then took an evening sunset stroll along the wetlands before heading back to our room and ending the day. Escape from the long journey

For our first full day in Seattle We think it’s best to tackle all the major attractions from the start. We bought coffee and pastries for breakfast at Cedarbrook and headed out. We went to a popular Vietnamese coffee shop called Coffeeeholic House in Columbia City. It was 20 minutes from Cedarbrook to fuel us throughout the day. We ordered the Purple Haze drink and it was probably one of the best lattes we’ve ever had.
We spent most of the morning and afternoon at the famous Public Market Center. (also known as Pike Place) and beautiful downtown Seattle. This was our second time at Pike Place. The first was a trip through the PNW, since my husband had never been to Seattle. So this was his go to place to experience Pike Place for himself. At Pike Place, we stopped at Ellenos and bought some blueberry yogurt, which was tart and delicious. We decided not to see the Market Theater Gum Wall, but it’s still there if you want to see it. Before Pike Place Chowder opened, we walked downtown and visited the stores that were still open. Everywhere we go is dog friendly. And the puppies were greeted with enthusiasm. As we walked back to Pike Place Chowder, there was a line before the store opened. We got in line quickly and once the store opened it moved pretty quickly. When it’s our turn We ordered a sample. (You can choose between 4 or 8 items) and choose from 4 soups, including lemon and coconut. Crab and oyster soup and traditional New England soup. The best flavor has to be the crab and oysters with chorizo.
Soon after we finished Pike Place and headed to Settle Center to see the Space Needle. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the Space Needle, but dogs are allowed on the grounds of Seattle Center. This place reminded me of the Science Center. California near USC in Los Angeles Be sure to stop by Chihuly Garden and Glass if you’re visiting Seattle Center without your dog. We saw some glass art on display outside. But we can’t come in with two dogs. Another great place is the Pop Culture Museum. Cooper and I agreed to admire the architecture outside. Walking around Seattle Center was so much fun. The dogs had fun exploring and rubbing the grass. After walking around, it was time to have lunch. There is a Japanese restaurant nearby called Katsuya that has an outdoor patio and is dog friendly. We ordered the Raku Mori bento. Bento lunch with cod miso Corn Tempura and Toro Royal Roll The puppies were given a cool drink of water from the restaurant. Overall, the food was delicious! The fish was fresh and satisfied our hunger in the afternoon.
We took our pearls to Don’t Yell at Me for the second half of the day – they’re dog friendly. We ordered the Chrysanthemum Tea, Myrrh Honey and Roselle Honey which were perfect and spent a few hours in the Fremont area. for fun We went to see the trolls under the Aurora Bridge. The Fremont Trollis is a giant, meticulously crafted mixed media sculpture of a troll clinging to a real Volkswagen.

There is a “funky” area in downtown Fremont. Close to Fremont Troll where we went. There are many unique boutiques and restaurants. And there is also a statue of Lenin. This area is rarely frequented by people from outside the city. I found it quite nice and would recommend it as a place to shop to see more. We went into a few shops, like Pipe and Row, and there were signs outside. “Dogs are welcome”; Clearly we had to go in. When the day is almost over and it’s almost time for dinner. We continued on to Biang Biang Noodles. Our order was the dry spicy mix of Mish Mish Mala and pork dumplings. The noodles were amazing and really tasted homemade. It was comparable to the noodles I had eaten in New York. This place is not dog friendly as there is no outdoor space. But you can take it with you. (Which we recommend you do if it’s inappropriate to leave your dog in the car while you’re eating.)
Before we headed back to Cedarbrook to end the day. We have to go out to the park. We went to Lincoln Park. This 135-acre park in west Seattle on the edge of Puget Sound is amazing. It has plenty of parking. Finding parking is easy. The park includes hiking trails. Beach walkway, sports fields, picnic shelters and heated salt water pool We walked along the forest path to the beach area. Cooper and Sachi had a great time here. The highlight of the park is seeing a family of five Cardigan Welsh Corgis.
Just like that, our first day in Seattle ended. And we were in awe of our comfy beds at Cedarbrook Lodge.
The next day, we woke up refreshed and prepared to leave Cedarbrook Lodge. Cooper and Sashi will miss the lush lawns and large outdoor space. for the second day We will explore more of Seattle. And check out some places from our must-try list. After checking out at Cedarbrook Lodge, we headed to Hello Emfor Cafe.

Hello Em is Seattle’s first Vietnamese coffee roaster! At the cafe we ordered cà phê lá dứa (Vietnamese pandan coffee) and bến hột tu (Vietnamese milk). I wish I had ordered the entire menu because everything looked amazing. Pandan coffee is very delicious. And the latte really woke me up. This place is amazing. This property appears to be dog friendly. But it’s worth asking ahead of time in case you’re bringing a furry friend.
Our next stop was Seattle Fish Guy, a coffee shop and market hybrid serving fresh poke, soup, and seasonal seafood. They have one.
