There are not many places that can meet these needs. In fact, he narrowed the list down to eight.
So without further ado, here are some places that can be considered a short trip from Singapore.
When it comes to places to visit in Riau Islands, most people think of Batam and Bintan Islands. However, if you want to travel privately and not too far from Singapore, you should consider Telunas Private Island.
Telunas is a small resort near Sugi Island. Yes, it’s only 50 km south of Singapore, but once you get here, you’ll forget it’s Singapore. This small island has 15 overwater villas on the beach and 5 private villas in the hills. However, it’s so close to the main island that you’ll never run out of things to do.

⛴️ How to get to Telunas from Singapore: Take a ferry from Harborfront Center to Sekupang and then take a local ferry from Sekupang to Telunas Private Island.
🌞 Best time to visit Telunas: October to April has the best weather and from December to February the water is lighter.
Nikoi Island is a small island east of Bintan Island. A part of the island can be surrounded in less than 20 minutes. The island has clear blue water. White sandy beaches and impeccable service – it’s all a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Batam is probably the most popular destination from Singapore. It is very close to Singapore. On the north side of Batam, you can see the skyline of Singapore. Unlike its neighboring island Bintan, Batam is known for its dining and shopping. But there are some good hotels.

Joyo is a small island near Bintan Island, Indonesia. Living in Joyo is made for sharing, so working together is the best. In fact, it can cover the entire island. Joyo Island can accommodate up to 45 people at a time. I went to Joyo with a group of about 20 people. We are very happy. We have the island to ourselves.

Desaru is a popular beach destination in Malaysia and is easily accessible from Singapore. I visited Desaru in 2010 and found it to be a common place then. However, in 2019, with the opening of four new hotels in Desaru Beach, the town has embraced something new and attractive.

When I was in my 20s, I often went to Rawa with a group of friends. Malacca is a popular weekend getaway from Singapore due to its proximity to the Singapore-Malaysia border. It is very close to Singapore and can be done as a day trip. Although I thought it was too early to drive early in the morning and come back late at night.

Tioman is known for diving; It is especially popular for beginners to get their certification. The water around Tioman is crystal clear and there are many dive sites with good visibility. I did Open Water and Advanced PADI certification in Tioman and returned to the island twice for recreational diving. If you are not a diver, there are many other activities you can do in Tioman such as snorkeling and cycling around the island.
