We found this to be a really fun park to explore with Leo. There are many points in which it is allowed. The high altitude means it’s not as hot as some of the other places we explored. There are many good trails where it is not allowed, so we took turns with it while others explored. It is allowed to walk on the paved road between the Sunset and Sunrise viewpoints, which is a nice little walk that has all the views, it’s only half a mile long, but it’s a nice walk that we all will enjoy together. This was the hardest of the 4 parks we visited to get the most out of it as we had our dog with us. The park’s main drive is accessible only by public transport, where dogs are not allowed. The Grand Canyon had the best time for us to explore with Leo! It was allowed almost everywhere except under the ledge, on any shuttle, or in a building. There are many avenues along the way and views that we can explore together. There is a kennel at the Grand Canyon Kennel Park on the South Rim where we can ride him if we want to walk without him, and a hotel in the park , Yavapai Lodge, has a pet room.
We visited the week before school let out in the morning and had a great time. By the time we were ready to leave the visitor center, the parking lot was full and it was very busy. I definitely recommend visiting early/off-season so you can spend more time sightseeing and less time looking for parking.

We stayed at the Hyatt Place Page/Lake Powell in Page Arizona as we also wanted to visit Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend while in the area and our main goal was to visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon but we couldn’t. opening day. of a week, during the summer snow let side of the park closed.
