Dog Friendly Vacations In Pa – On our way to and from the BlogPaws conference in Kansas City, we stopped in the quiet and historic town of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. It’s a dog-friendly little town with a beautiful river running through it. The city is also home to Lock Haven University, a college with less than 4,000 students. The William Clinger Riverwalk is a beautiful 2.25 mile paved path along the river. The river is actually an embankment that protects Lock Haven from the West Branch Susquehanna River.
The Riverwalk is a long dog-friendly trail and is great for long walks. We love going to Lock Haven because the riverfront provides a great way for us and the dog to get exercise and enjoy a long drive. I would go to this dog town for this beautiful river!

Lock Haven is not a busy town. There are a few small shops and restaurants, but it is a quiet college town. That’s what we like. It’s quiet and peaceful, and you can enjoy the riverfront and beautiful architecture without worrying about crowds or finding parking.
Some parts of the city may seem deserted, but there are still plenty of attractions to enjoy – especially along the river!

GREAT DOG-FRIENDLY HOTEL IN LOCK HAVEN On one of our trips from Phoenix to New York, we looked for a dog-friendly hotel near Interstate 80. Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Finding this town and hotel was one of those happy accidents planning a cross country road trip with two dogs! We have stayed at this Best Western location 4 times in the last two years and love it. The rooms are updated, clean and very comfortable. They also offer free breakfast. The best part about this hotel is that it is a short walk from the hotel to the river. We really enjoyed our stay at Best Western and will definitely be back soon! When I find a good hotel that really welcomes dogs, I try to come back for more trips with dogs. During the summer, Lock Haven has many events along the river, such as the free Summer Concert Series, which takes place on a floating stage on the river!
