Broadway is a lively little village with many independent shops, restaurants, cafes and museums. Don’t miss Broadway Tower – this fairy-tale building sits on the only highest point in the Cotswolds and offers panoramic views and a 4.4 mile circular walk from the village. Broadway has a number of dog-friendly hotels, making it a great choice for a Cotswolds holiday.
The Lygon Arms* dates back to the 1300s and has hosted everyone from Oliver Cromwell to Kylie Minogue. This is a luxury location in the heart of Broadway with rooms and suites, a spa, dog-friendly gardens, a lounge bar and a restaurant with a menu designed by chef James Martin.
The Lygon Arms does a great job of welcoming your canine friends, with a ‘mud paw station’ to wash your dog’s feet and a dog menu. There is a charge of £25 per night per dog (one year and over) which includes a dog bed, dog bowl and treats in the room.
Another of our favorite pet-friendly hotels in the Cotswolds is The Fish Hotel*, a luxury resort set in 400 acres of private land in Farncombe, just a few miles from Broadway. They have a variety of rooms to choose from, spread over different buildings, from traditional rooms and suites to stunning treehouses (although only one of them is dog-friendly, so book in advance).
Top Pet Friendly Accommodation In Cotswolds, England, United Kingdom
One medium-sized dog or two small dogs (one year or older) can stay with you for £30 per dog per stay. They received a royal welcome pack including a bed for the dog, two bowls, a towel for the dog and tasty treats. Fish’s has a ‘dog playground’ and a ‘dog wet’ tub so your dog can enjoy their stay to the fullest. They can spend time with you in hotel bars and lounges.
Two other hotels on the Farncombe Estate – Dormy House and Foxhill Manor – also welcome dogs to dine with you in Dormy’s House’s Potting Shed restaurant.
The North Cotswold market town of Chipping Campden has a beautiful high street lined with historic honey-stone buildings and home to shops, restaurants and cafes. Cotswold House Hotel & Spa* has been welcoming guests to its location in the heart of Chipping Campden since the 1920s, with rooms spread across three buildings, a tranquil spa, The Fig pub and restaurant.
The hotel’s dog-friendly cabins are located in the hotel’s gardens, and some have their own private gardens and hot tubs. There is an additional fee of £25 per dog for each stay which includes a comfortable bed and treats to make the stay as good as yours.
Cotswolds Information And Holiday Cottages
You can bring your dog to the bistro and lounge, and the staff can recommend dog day care if you want to enjoy some dog-free time, enjoy the hotel spa, or dine in the restaurant. There are also many great walks in the area, including the 4.1 mile loop to the top of Dover Peak.
Stow-on-the-Wold is the highest of the Cotswold towns, situated on a hill and surrounded by beautiful Cotswold villages and countryside. If you’re interested in history, make sure you stop by the medieval bush on the green or visit St. Edward, which dates back to the Middle Ages and whose door is said to be the setting of JRR Tolkien Doolin’s novel The Inspiration for the Door.
The Old Stocks Inn* is a boutique hotel with 16 stylish bedrooms that describes itself as ‘luxury without the stuffiness’. One medium dog or two small dogs (6 months and over) can stay with you in the garden room for £15 per dog per night and they have a comfortable bed and a water bowl.
They also offer a variety of printable walks perfect for walking your dog during your stay, including dog-friendly Cotswold attractions and restaurants. Dogs are also welcome in the hotel bar, library and secluded private walled gardens.
Holiday Cottages, House, Barns In Kingham
Moreton-in-Marsh is one of the few Cotswold towns with direct trains from London Paddington, making it an ideal weekend destination. Moreton has been welcoming visitors for at least 1,700 years and remains a popular attraction thanks to its 18th century architecture, picturesque lanes and busy Tuesday market – another JRR Tolkien Where link attraction .
As the name suggests, the Manor House Hotel* is a magnificent 16th century country manor house with 35 bedrooms, 2 AA Rosette restaurants and bar, cozy lounge with open fire and beautiful walled gardens. The hotel is happy to welcome four-legged guests for £20 per night for the first dog (£10 for the next dog), which includes a dog bed, bowl and sausage for breakfast.
The dog-friendly Manor House Hotel also has a Beagle Bar where dogs can eat with you in the bar or garden (but not in the restaurant).
The Oxfordshire town of Woodstock is in the eastern Cotswolds just nine miles north of the university city of Oxford and close to Blenheim Palace, the magnificent country home of the Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Winston Churchill around 1705. Surrounded by 2,000 acres of parkland, visitors welcome to walk their dogs.

Killingworth Castle*, a historic eight-bedroom country inn a few miles north of Woodstock, has a reputation for its food – it was recently named one of the UK’s best gastro pubs. They have two dog friendly rooms and for an extra £10 per dog per night (maximum two dogs) your dog can have their own basket, blanket, bowl and dog treats.
Dogs cannot be left alone in the rooms, but the hotel offers three dog-friendly tables for lunch and dinner so they can stay with you – but book early as they are popular.
The festival town of Cheltenham welcomes thousands of visitors each year to its literary, science, music and jazz festivals, as well as its many horse races. There are plenty of green spaces in the town to enjoy with your dog, with Crickley Hills, Cleeve Hills and Leckhampton Hills nearby.
The Queens Hotel* is located in the heart of Cheltenham, a stone’s throw from many cafes and restaurants – Brasserie Blanc, Woodkraft and Gallimore’s Kitchen are all great dog friendly spots next door. The hotel is one of Cheltenham’s finest examples of Regency architecture, with a dramatic staircase leading up to 84 rooms, some of which overlook the Royal Gardens.
A Dog Friendly Weekend In Moreton-in-marsh, Cotswolds.
