Dog Friendly Things To Do In La
Los Angeles is surprisingly bad at dog-friendly beaches. So you want to take your four-legged friend to one of the best beaches in Los Angeles? Well, it only has about 70 miles of coastline

But we are not here to complain and whine, we are here to solve the problem. Instead, we want to tell puppy-loving Angelenos about a few of their beaches
Let your best friend follow you, on a leash or without a ticket. We offer two select projects in Los Angeles County, as well as one project located just across the border in neighboring OC County. We didn’t include Ventura County because it’s quite a commute for most Angelenos, but if you’re willing to travel a few extra miles to Oxnard or Ventura, you’ll find that these cities are dog-friendly and have more beaches than Los Angeles. No matter which beach exercise you go for, remember to bring a leash (and some poo bags). Also, just like humans, hydration is important, so bring an empty bowl and some water, so we recommend that the puppy does not swallow too much salt water or sand.
If a day at one of the city’s best parks isn’t enough for you, here are a few Los Angeles beaches where you can spend a day by the sea (and maybe treat yourself and your pooch to one of our favorite dog spots after Puppi Snacks – Friendly Restaurant).

This sandy beach in Long Beach is a paradise for dogs. In fact, it’s the only beach of its kind here: This four-acre oceanfront resort is the only dog-friendly beach in Los Angeles County. The park is named after the late local canine personality, Rosa’s English Bulldog. You’ll see some signs on the beach designating a dog-friendly area (roughly between Granada Avenue and Roycroft Avenue), but otherwise there are no fences or other hard boundaries. If you see the orange “Playing Dogs” sculpture, you know you’re in the right place. Look for metered parking ($2 per hour) in the Bennett Avenue parking lot every day from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The landscape is beautiful. A rocky point divides the shore, and if you’re going here with pups, it’s best to stay at the north end (ie north/west of lifeguard tower three). Dogs must be on a leash, and besides the beach, you can take them to campgrounds and day-use areas (but not on backcountry trails).

Parking is $3 per hour, up to $12 to enter the parking lot, turn onto Beach Access Road and follow the driveway under PCH to another parking lot. (Note that this lot has been closed several times due to storm damage.) Alternatively, you can park for free on PCH and walk down the wooden steps (about 36000 E Pacific Coast Hwy) or look for dirt access to the east. road.
This OC beach on the other side of the county is always full of puppies. The wide sandy beach and slow waves make this a perfect place for the four-legged sea. The beach hosts regular dog parties and the annual Surf City Surf Dog competition. Parking is available in two parking lots north of Pacific Coast Highway ($3-$3.50 per hour) and other parking lots are nearby.
