After all, your vacation will be more interesting if you bring your best friend with you. However, finding dog friendly hotels in New England requires a lot of research. What is the hotel’s pet policy? Are there any additional costs? Are there any weight or gender restrictions? And you may worry that traveling with your dog means sacrificing your comfort. Are hotels and campgrounds off the beaten path your only options for “wandering”? Or are there accommodations that not only allow dogs, but actually accommodate dogs and their owners?

Field Guide Lodge in Stowe is a beautiful hotel managed by Lark Hotels. Like many properties, our pet policy allows dogs under 70 pounds for an additional fee of $50 per dog per day. We stayed in one of the three dog-friendly cottage suites, which had plenty of space and a private outdoor entrance. This suite can be booked online. Please add the dog’s number, size and name to the register at checkout. Dogs cannot be left alone in the rooms. Out of respect for other guests, leashed dogs are only allowed at the hotel entrance and outside public areas.
The hotel offers stylish and villa-style interiors. The lobby lounge is furnished with a retro wood stove and cozy carpets where you can enjoy a book or a board game. Guests can enjoy breakfast coffee in the lobby or drinks and snacks at Après Only, the new ski bar with a ski theme. You have to book in advance for the outdoor areas, which is a bit inconvenient. But the advantage is that you are sure that you have it yourself. And the location can’t be beat. We could go into town and the mountain car stopped in front of the hotel. It’s the perfect base for you and your pup’s adventures in Vermont.
The Inn at Mountain View Farm is a very special place to stay in central Northeast Vermont. Our pet policy allows dogs in some rooms (Peacham, Danville, N. Danville, Maidstone and Lost Nation) for a fee of $50 per night. To book a room online, select the “pet friendly” option. The hotel is very pet-friendly, so there are friendly golden retrievers working near the office, and there’s even an animal shelter on site. Pay attention to how your dog treats other animals!
We stayed in the Deluxe Peacham Room which was cozy and comfortable. Roscoe especially loved to sleep in front of his wood stove. In the morning, we were welcomed from the main building of the hotel with pastries and fresh coffee. Just when we thought we’d run out of food, the host brought us their famous pancakes with fresh blueberries. We could not resist.

This historic town, spread over 400 acres on top of the beautiful North East mountain range, is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. It was worth waking up to see the pastel morning sunrise.
