The resort’s 700 hectare area has everything you need for a perfect vacation. From land to lake, choose from a selection of fun activities for the whole family. The swimming pool and guest beach are pet-free areas, but dogs have their own swimming area, Fanny’s Beach. We were even able to rent a sailboat to go out on the lake with Roscoe! Additionally, you can dine at one of the resort’s five restaurants. Dogs are not allowed in the dining areas, but they are welcome to dine with you in Red Mill’s comfortable outdoor seating area. Located in Stowe, Field Guide Lodge is a charming boutique hotel operated by Lark Hotels. Like most of their properties, their policy allows dogs under 70 pounds for an additional fee of $50 per dog per day. We stayed in one of their three dog-friendly cabin suites with plenty of space and a private outside entrance. You can book these kits online, just remember to include your dog’s size, shape and name at checkout. Dogs should not be left alone in guest rooms. Out of respect for other guests, dogs are only allowed on a leash outside the hotel lobby and public areas.
The hotel stands out for its elegant, lodge-style interior. The cozy lobby lounge, furnished with a retro wood stove and cozy wool upholstery, invites you to linger with a book or a board game. You can dine in the lobby cafe bar or the brand new vintage sky themed après bar for just drinks and snacks. The outdoor hot tub has to be reserved in advance, which is a little tricky. But the advantage is that you are guaranteed to get it yourself. And the location can’t be beat. We were able to walk downtown and the mountain bus right in front of the hotel. It’s the perfect home base for you and your pup’s Vermont adventure.

In the morning, we were greeted with bread and coffee warmed from the oven in the main building of the inn. Just when we thought we couldn’t eat any more, the innkeeper brought out a batch of his famous pancakes with farm fresh blueberries. We could not resist.
This historic 400 acre farm in the hills of North East Britain is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. It’s worth getting up early for the pastel pink and purple sunrises. Over the hills and morning mist descends into the valley.

The charming nature of the inn may not be for everyone, but it’s in a great location within walking distance of the city centre. The owner is very friendly and quick to give suggestions for pet friendly restaurants and things to do in Burlington.
