There are many pubs in the county – and near us – that welcome dogs, including the Old Mill House, a short walk from us in Saxted. The Railway Inn and the Castle Inn in Market Place near Framlingham also welcome dogs.
More distant, but still in Suffolk. For example, you could combine a pint at The Ship Inn in Dunwich with (or before) a walk on the beach with your dog.
Away With The Kids
Saxted Green is a great place to walk if you don’t want to go too far from your resort. Remember we are close to the Suffolk coast and moors, so there are plenty of designated paths, walks and trails to use and enjoy. Ask the front desk for relevant OS maps.
There are many beaches that welcome your dog, but remember that not all of them are dog-friendly during the summer months. For example, Southwold and Aldeburgh are incompatible from early May to late September (although the former ferry is dog-friendly). Other places such as Dunwich and Walberswick have no restrictions.
There are many other tourist attractions throughout the state that welcome dogs, but you must keep your pet on a leash. These include Framlingham Castle (although coffee is banned) and Leiston Abbey, close to Sizewell nuclear power station.
If you want something more animal oriented, try Easton Farm Park near Woodbridge or Jimmy Farm on the outskirts of Ipswich. You can stay near many farms
