When you go on a dog-friendly holiday with our four-legged friends in and around beautiful Bude, one of the joys is seeing our dogs’ love for the beach and the sea. Luckily, we have an amazing selection of some of Cornwall’s most beautiful beaches on our doorstep, perfect for parties and beautiful walks.
This little gem has no dog restrictions all year round and is just steps from our doors, right here. Northcott is also home to the lovely Sip & Sea, famous for serving some of Cornwall’s best teas in the summer, perfect for after a long walk along the coast!
Owned by the National Trust and with its waters, Sandymouth is popular with dog walkers as it is dog friendly all year round, although access is poor as the walk from the car park is quite long. However, it is worth the walk once you get there, and at low tide you can walk to Summerleaze Beach.

One of the most popular beaches in Bude because of its easy access and impressive facilities. Dogs are welcome all year, although they must be on a leash from May 21 to September 30 (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). During peak seasons, they can run first thing in the morning or in the evening.
Crooklets River (connected to Summerleaze Beach) offers plenty of golden sand and rock pools to explore at low tide. With ample parking and easy access, and being close to many friendly cafes, it is a great choice for dog lovers during autumn and winter (dog time from 10 am to 6 pm from May 15 to September 30).
Widemouth Bay is a beautiful beach and very popular with locals and visitors alike! With ample parking, easy access and some food and drink options nearby, it’s a great choice for a winter dog walk! Dogs are welcome during the low season but are prohibited from Easter until September 30.

630 miles of beautiful coastal paths including the 87 mile Tamara Coast-to-Coast Way allow you and your dogs to, in theory, cover all of Cornwall on foot if you have the energy! For those of us with a moderate energy level, these trails offer almost unlimited hiking opportunities for you and your dogs when broken down into manageable segments. Full of wildlife and beautiful countryside parks, Tamar Lakes is a wonderful place to stroll with your four-legged friends. And with Frog Hopper’s online coffee shop, you can rest and relax with a great view after a long session. There is even a children’s playground.
Welcoming guests from late March to October, the former Abbey and current family home is home to beautiful gardens, grounds, beach walks and a beautiful tea room. A beautiful paradise for dogs and a great day for people.
