Although unfortunately many cottages do not allow pets, I tracked pet cottages in Queensland from the southern state to Far North Queensland.

South Queensland’s wine region of the Granite Belt, including the central town of Stanthorpe, is a dog-friendly destination. The city’s tourist park on the outskirts of the city offers a variety of accommodation options for homeowners, including pet-friendly accommodation.

Choose standard pet-friendly cabins. Studio cabins sleep four people each, with double and twin beds, kitchen and appliances. There are also family friendly cabins, usually with a queen bed and wood stove in the separate bedroom.

Just a short walk from Beach Views (and a short distance from Palm Beach Dog Beach), dogs are allowed throughout the year in selected dog-friendly areas and dog-friendly cabins.
Two of the spacious two-bedroom cabins are designed as dog-friendly cabins. Each cabin has a gated veranda and is surrounded by a sheep-proof fence for relaxed meals, perhaps with the help of the BBQ on the balcony. North Stradbroke Island is one of the dog-friendly islands on the Queensland coast, where pets are allowed on the ferries and on the beach, as well as on the island’s beaches. The beach camp is only accessible by 4WD, but North Stradbroke has pet-friendly cabins.

The caravan park is located just a few meters from the Nielson Park Dog Park at the northern end of Fred Koutis Avenue. Dogs are also allowed on the parts of Bargara Foreshore accessible from the Esplanade, but look out for some signs indicating that dogs are not allowed.
