Bring your furry friend and explore on foot, spotting birds and other wildlife amid panoramic views and the rippling Brooks Rainforest.

If you and your furry friend would rather get away from the sea, then Saltwater Villas in Mooloolaba is for you. Just a few minutes’ walk from the sugar-white sandy beach and surrounded by the city’s delicious restaurants (the restaurant near Riceboi is a must for pets), you and your pup will experience absolute holiday bliss. The villas, which range from studios with double beds to three-bedroom houses (the latter fully fenced), all have a balcony or terrace, air conditioning and access to the swimming pool, as well as free use of the kayak and SUP board. Dogs (and cats) of all sizes are welcome here.

Imagine waking up to an unobstructed view of Lake Cootharaba, whose pristine waters are just a stone’s throw from your bed. Some would call it a dream, but luckily it can become a reality at Boreen Point Campground. The spacious, unpowered campsite at Boreen Point is a true bargain, nestled in nearly untouched natural forest bordering the glistening Sandy Lakeshore. There are also powered pitches suitable for tents, caravans, motorhomes and motorhomes. Dogs are always welcome at this popular sailing and fishing lake, but only with advance notice. So make sure you follow all the correct steps before booking.

The Jacaranda Cottages are just a few minutes from the picture postcard town of Maleny. This Zen-like retreat will make you and your pup feel like you’ve landed in the French countryside with idyllic settings – think green fields and clusters of vibrant jacaranda trees. There is a variety of accommodation to choose from, including a pretty two-person cottage with a fireplace to a sprawling four-bedroom house with a large terrace and a saltwater infinity pool. Although dogs are always welcome here, you must get permission before booking.

More and more people are hesitant to leave their four-legged friends at home while traveling, and luckily, more and more dog-friendly places are popping up.

Pet-friendly Accommodation Caloundra

Dog-friendly tourism is on the rise. So if you’re looking to visit the Gympie region with your four-legged friend, you’re not alone. fresh sea breeze and warm sun on your skin. With good vibes and just enough splash, Rainbow Beach welcomes all adventure seekers.

This popular beach town is a 4WDer’s paradise thanks to the ferry that connects the mainland with K’gari (Fraser Island), but also boasts one of the few (and yes, I mean three) dog-friendly national park campsites in Queensland. This makes it a great destination for camping and traveling dog lovers.

We would definitely recommend exploring Rainbow Beach with a 4WD vehicle. This gives you the opportunity to explore more – you have access to the beach and campsites, which have several sandy access roads that lead to some of the better spots.

If you’ve never been to Rainbow before (especially in the warmer months), you can expect a lot of off-road driving – lots of vehicles, a busy main street full of rainbows and a highway full of cars on the beach.

Moving To The Sunshine Coast

Main Beach is simply epic and has so much to offer. Cast a line, catch a wave, throw a hook on the grill in the back of the truck and soak up the sun.

The main beach access is to the right of the flag. Lower your tire pressure, check the tides and you’re good to go.

Jump to the famous Double Island Point and you get the Carlo Sand Blow, climb the dunes to test your fitness and then run to the sea to cool off.

You cannot take your dog to Double Island Point and you will see signs on the beach indicating the restricted area. It’s worth considering arranging a dog sitter with a friend for a few hours as this is a great place. It’s only a short drive down the beach and back, but to get there you have to be close to low tide. So be aware of the tides when considering this excursion.

Inverloch, Various Dog Friendly Beaches

The beach is amazing and the dog will love swimming right in front of the camp. Byron wears Wolf & I Co. Gaucho Dog Collar.

Want to escape the crowd? For a bit more peace and quiet, go left along the main beach. This beach stretches all the way to Inskip – but make sure it’s near low tide if you want to do it. Note: Beach access to Inskip is further down the road and cannot be accessed via the same access route on the flag as it is a gated section.

You always have to watch your dog on the beach because the trucks keep coming. Always use the Wolf & I Co series dog leash, but also make sure your dog has enough water and sunscreen as it can get hot. Set up a gazebo or carport in the summer to provide shade for your dog and family.

It’s hard to beat a fridge in a truck filled with some Singer salad and a soda, and your best friend will be happy hanging out on the beach longer, but if you’re not prepared, check out the top spots below.

Alex Headlands Beach

We can’t count the number here, but if you can find a shady grassy area with water bowls for the dogs, cold beer on tap, and outstanding food, you’ll be spoiled in no time.

There are also many other dogs and their owners and they enjoy talking to them, finding out where they come from and having their bottoms rubbed by the friendly dogs.

There is also a dog-friendly facility with bottled water next to the porch. Not big and full of vibes like Deck, but still a good meal, some bubbly drinks and a dog friendly area means a win-win.
