The Safi Sikhs are a tribe of adventurous explorers looking for the real thing, not what is put on display for tourists. We’re looking for experiences that inspire and make us (and the places we visit!) a little brighter. Want to get out of Sin City? Nevada has many beautiful places and places to visit. Here are the top 3 day trips from Vegas.
The city of Las Vegas is amazing for many reasons. You have the strip, downtown, the arts district, Summerlin, Henderson and more.

But the good thing about Las Vegas is that it is also the center of many really fun Vegas trips. You can explore different parts of Nevada or if you want to go further, you can even go to southern Utah.
Traveling from Las Vegas is great any time of the year. However, it can get very hot (over 110 degrees) in the summer, so sitting in a car for a while can be uncomfortable. If you have an old car, it is better to leave it for the summer.
It is important to pack all the necessary items for your trip from Las Vegas. Here are some key things you should bring with you:
I did a lot of research when I lived in Las Vegas. There were some really interesting rides, some in order and some in between.

The ghost town of Nelson is a nice abandoned gold mine 45 minutes from the Strip. It is open for optional tours, but you can also see restored buildings and beautiful artifacts.
The city tour is free, but you can also pay $15 to sign up for a tour that lasts less than an hour. We personally did the free version and just walked around town and took pictures of old buildings.
Head to Nelson’s Ghost Town if you want a relaxed day of sightseeing but without the crazy queues. This is definitely one of the best day trips from Vegas!
Tip: If you have extra time, continue on Route 165 to reach the Colorado River! This is a great place for night photos.
Exploring Miami Beach With Your Fur-ever Friend: Enjoying A Dog-friendly Trip To The Beach
The dry bottom of Lake Eldorado is just 35 minutes south of the strip. It’s a really cold, vast area that was once a lake, but has now dried up.
Eldorado Dry Lake is a great place to take pictures or walk the dogs. The grounds are huge and you can walk around without worrying about cars or anything!
I have to mention Valley of Fire because it really is one of the best day trips from Vegas. It is 1 hour from Vegas, but if there is traffic, it will take longer to get to the park.
The Valley of Fire has some of the most amazing hiking trails
