Dog-friendly Beaches In Dorset
April every year. Outside of these times, visitors with dogs should go to the nearby Monkey Beach, which is located near Stone Quay near the pier.
Durdle Door is one of Dorset’s most famous natural sites. Every year thousands of tourists flock to this area of the Jurassic Coast to photograph the world famous landmarks. A beautiful beach with turquoise water and great views of Portland Island in the distance.
All of these beaches are off limits and dogs are welcome all year round. The walk to the beach from the car park has lots of steps down so may not be suitable for older dogs. Dogs must be on a lead when the trail enters the abyss. In the summer, the beach gets very crowded, something to be aware of if your dog gets overwhelmed easily.

Dog Friendly Health Walks
Lulworth Cove is about half an hour from Durdle Door. This horse-shaped beach is fun and popular with families because of its many attractions. Like the neighboring beaches, dogs are welcome all year round. This old water is good for swimming and swimming.
Most of Lulworth is a shingle beach. There are several rock pools at the west end that are visible from the low ice. Behind the beach there are many beautiful scenery for dog walking to enjoy. Studland is within walking distance of Ulwell Holiday Park, making it a popular choice. The area is friendly all year round, however dogs must be kept within 2 meters for 1 to 1 hour.
The beach has a large stretch of golden sand, backed by dunes and heat. There are water bowls available at Knoll Beach, Middle Beach and South Beach and dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating at the National Trusts Knoll Beach Café. From the beach you can walk to Old Harry Rocks.
Kimmeridge is a little different from the other dog beaches on this list. It has rock shelves and hundreds of rocks from the sea. There are restrooms and a nice visitor center, which is also good for dogs. Dogs are welcome all year round and can be on leads.

When you start the walk you will pass through the village of Tyneham. The village was abandoned during World War II and is still there and open for tourists to walk around.
The beach is good for dogs all year round. It is busier than the other beaches on the Jurassic Coast but it is very beautiful. There is no space available so we encourage you to bring a tour and activity that everyone can enjoy.
