Whether you’re looking for a simple pet shelter on the beach or in a historic part of town, there’s plenty to choose from for both dogs and cats. If you have a large dog, ask about size and breed restrictions. Some hotels that accept large dogs are the Old City House Inn, the Beacher House and the Southern Oaks Inn.

Witty Whisker Cat Cafe is a great place to have fun and welcome new friends; not a place to bring pets. If you’re looking for a home in St. Augustin, be sure to visit Witty Whisker.

Legal In Florida To Have Pet In Car On Lap Or Unrestrained?

What’s better than going out to eat and asking the waiter to bring your dog a bowl of water? A simple sign like this is how you feel when meeting a new dog friend. It doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, but it’s just cute and makes you smile. In Santo Agostinho this type of recognition happens all the time for visitors who bring their pets.

Maybe you want to take your pet with you, but don’t want to take care of it for the entire vacation period. In this case, a pet service/nanny service would be an option. St. Augustine has plenty of dog groomers who can make your pup happy.

Wildlife Paradise is less than five kilometers from the city. With the webcam service, you can monitor your dog at any time of the day. You can take them swimming in the infinity pool, play with the friendly staff or relax in the refreshing sauna.

Dog Town USA is another pet-friendly hotel and is very convenient if you are driving to Jacksonville or heading north. Located on US 1, about 10 miles north of historic downtown St. Augustine, America’s Dog Town will pamper your pet with an individual play area, pool and on-demand “fun classes.”

5 Beautiful Dog-friendly Beaches Near Panama City, Florida (2024 Update)

A large selection of dog treats in St. Augustine is a trip to the beach! Dogs are allowed on all St. Augustine beaches except Anastasia Park. Dogs must be on a leash, so you can wear running shoes if your dogs like that. They see a bird that immediately gives up running – I think they hear “my, my, my…” like in Finding Nemo.

Since we don’t want people throwing trash on the beach, be sure to clean up after your pet. Most entrances to the beach have suitcases, but you can bring yours as they sometimes run out.

If you take your dog to the beach for a long time, I suggest you bring a blanket or tent for your friend’s dog. Even swimming in the ocean with clear water, the sun is too hot for dogs and they can get hot. Of course, this doesn’t mean being a pet owner, but don’t forget to bring clean water for them. Word to the wise: bring more. I have had many experiences where one of my dogs has knocked over their water bowl and I have had to run to the station to get a bottle of water.

If you have a small dog, you can wash the litter for him outside. Close to the public car park that gives access to the beach with showers.

And finally about the sea, the dogs, the sea turtles and the birds. Migratory birds inhabit the coast of St. Augustine from April to August, and the nesting season for sea turtles runs from March to October. Unfortunately, the main predators of seabirds are dogs. Although your Fluffy just wants to play, the birds in the air are more concerned.

Please keep your dogs on a leash when near the beach. Even when online, keep them away from mountains and areas that have been identified as popular areas for beetles. (Photo by Piping Plovers from the Audubon website, taken by Audubon photography award winner Melissa Groo.)

You can absorb some of St. Augustine’s history while giving your dog daily exercise while walking around town. Walking your dog on the brick streets of downtown will give you plenty of opportunities to socialize with people and dogs, if you wish. St. George, Hypolita and Aviles Streets have plenty to see and stop along the way to watch the wildlife.

You can also plan a picnic at Castillo de San Marcos or bring a blanket and people watch for a while. Dogs are not welcome at the castle, but there is plenty of time for your pet to take in the scents of the past while soaking up some Florida history and sunshine.

All Inclusive Pet-friendly Resorts

The Spanish Military Hospital Museum on Calle Aviles is pet-friendly on all of its tours. Enter the hospital and learn about colonial medicine and take a break from the heat.

With size limits, dogs are allowed on the San Sebastian tour and in the upper cellar, the rooftop bar, as long as they are on a leash.

Many ghost tours, like Ghost Tours of St. Augustine and the 13 Keys Mystery and Treasure Hunt, are out there. If your dog is well behaved, he will be able to participate in the tour and the story.

Take a long walk or a short walk to the Spring Market and your dog will be surprised by the wolf’s long tail. Perhaps they can even take a well-known water bath to prolong their puppy life.

Orlando Is No.1 In Country For Best Dog-friendly Vacation Spot

If your dog is the adventurous type, consider taking him to visit an old wooden schoolhouse or perhaps take a tour of the colonial section, which would also be fun.

There is a free public park in St. Augustina where your dogs can stretch their legs sideways. The one in Parkland, south of the city, is the one I go to with my three dogs. This park has a variety of areas for small and large dogs, as well as lots of water, lots of toys, wash bags, kiddie pools, fake fire hydrants, and lots of other dog-friendly stuff. With a very large Miniature Pinscher, I learned that walking the picturesque trails within the Park is a great way to dress your dog before heading to the dog park.

If you are staying in St. Augustine Beach, you can visit the Ron Parker Dog Park on Old Beach Road near the CVS on Pope Street. It is a mixed park, shaded by trees, and offers two areas for dogs. However, every time I’ve been there, it’s been a mix of big dogs and small dogs in the big dog area, and they all get along.

Vilano Beach has a small grassy park on the north side of the community park. The few times I went there, the park was empty of dogs. Every time I bring a tennis ball I can make them run, and it’s definitely fun.

Pet-friendly Rv Rental Vacations

If you’re staying in town, the dog park inside Pomar Park (on SR 16 at Masters Drive) might be a good idea. With grass, some trees, and a gazebo to sit, this is another great place to let your dog run wild for a while. My dogs love jumping into the kiddie pool and flying in a circle to the trees and back to the pool.

If you’re thinking about going green outside of the dog park, consider taking your dog for a walk at Washington Oaks Gardens. There’s plenty of scent here for both of you to enjoy while your dog is on the line.

The Santo Agostinho Lighthouse is another beautiful green area that you both will enjoy. If your dog is acting strangely, it could be the ghost of a cat that lived on your property many, many, many years ago. You can read about the light cat as you climb
